How and what to pack for travel

Updated: Jul 9, 2023

I have been fortunate to travel more than ever in the past four years. Packing is not my forte, but I am getting better. However, it is crucial to pack the right accessories, and I have tended to overpack. You know, "better to have and not need than to need and not have." So, it was easy for me to mix the practical with the impractical. Here I have listed some useful items to enhance your comfort with gadgets that capture unforgettable moments. Having the right gear can significantly improve your theme park experience. In this blog, we will explore what I consider to be the five essential accessories you should pack when traveling to a theme park.

· Comfortable Footwear: Walking is part of any theme park visit, so proper footwear can make a difference. Look for comfortable shoes that provide ample support and cushioning to keep your feet happy and pain-free throughout the day. Sneakers or athletic shoes with good arch support, shock absorption, and breathable materials are what you want. Avoid new shoes, and It's also a good idea to pack a spare pair of socks to keep your feet dry and fresh.

· Lightweight Backpack: Carrying a lightweight backpack is essential for storing your belongings, such as snacks, water bottles, sunscreen, and other essentials. All theme parks have them (in case you forget yours!), but they come at a premium. Essentially, choose a bag with multiple compartments to keep your items organized and easily accessible and that is compact, water-resistant, and comfortable to wear for extended periods. A backpack with padded shoulder straps will help distribute the weight evenly and prevent strain on your back and shoulders.

· Sun Protection: Pack sunscreen with a high SPF to shield your skin from harmful UV rays. Apply it often and reapply it throughout the day. Additionally, wear a wide-brimmed hat to protect your face, ears, and neck from the sun. Sunglasses with UV protection are also essential to safeguard your eyes and reduce glare.

· Portable Charger: Pack a portable charger to ensure you don't miss out on capturing your favorite rides or finding your way around the park. Fortunately, most theme parks have portable vending machine chargers.

· Waterproof Phone Case: Water rides and unexpected rain showers can threaten your electronic devices. Protect your smartphone from water damage by investing in a waterproof phone case.

In conclusion, packing the right accessories can be the difference between a great time and a mini-disaster when taking that theme park adventure. From comfortable footwear to protect your feet to sun protection essentials, these five accessories are must-haves for any theme park visit. Remember: prioritize comfort, convenience, and protection when selecting your gear, and pack them well in advance to avoid any last-minute stress. With the right accessories in your bag, you'll be ready to make the most of your thrilling theme park adventure. Happy travels!
